It was baking hot when we visited Karijini National Park in northwestern Australia. We planned to do a bit of backcountry hiking into the gorges, but even modest distances seemed ridiculously over-optimistic in the sizzling sun. However, the times around sunset were phenomenal. At Hamersley Gorge, this scene of a rainbow next to a beautiful ghost gum tree came up for just a couple of seconds - the rainbow literally seemed to be on fire when the rainshower next to it was briefly spotlighted by the setting sun.
